This has to be one of my favourite interviews yet! This week, I interviewed Maddy Stephens, Life Coach, Podcaster and Hustling Business Woman. We went into what life coaching and her work is all about, how we could all benefit from a life coach, and some of her favourite healthy habits and rituals. I hope you enjoy this interview, Maddy is one of the most genuine and real people, and I loved interviewing her. Happy reading!
ALEXA: Firstly, Introduce yourself! Who are you, what do you do, and what are your passions?
MADDY: Hi! I’m Maddy, I’m 19 from Melbourne, Victoria, and I am currently studying a Diploma of Life Coaching. I have a passion for health, fitness, wellbeing and bettering myself, and that’s why I want to help others. I also have a huge passion for content creation and social media! A: Can you tell us a bit about what life coaching is all about?
M: Life Coaching is simply helping clients achieve their goals by asking them incredible questions that help to uncover resources they have within themselves, that they didn’t know they had! Life Coaches can help keep you accountable for your goals, help you set them and achieve them. A: Who do you think would benefit from having a life coach? Is it for everyone?
M: Everyone needs a life coach! Specifically, I work with clients on mindset and personal growth, which includes daily life goals, business goals, limiting beliefs, money mindset and basically setting goals to help you improve yourself and your life. There are life coaches for every niche, so whatever you want to work on, business, fitness, health, mindset, relationship, the options are endless! A: What does a day look like in your work life?
M: A work day in my life starts pretty early. I get up between 6am-7:30am everyday, and try to get in some form of movement. Usually I would go to the gym, but due to lockdown I either go on walks, or do workouts from home. Sometimes I work out in the afternoons too, it really just depends on the day! I like to start out my day by planning what I have to get done and writing a to-do list, as well as time blocking my day in my google calendar. Depending on the day, if I have clients, I will write up my programs for each client, that will resonate with them and support what they are wanting to work on. If I don’t have any clients that day, I’m either recording podcast episodes (@theselfscape.podcast cheeky plug), filming my weekly vlogs and editing, and/or planning or shooting content. I tend to work 8am/9am til around 3-5pm depending on the day. I do tend to catch myself working later in the evening if I have ideas or things to schedule etc. which I need to get better at doing!! A: Where would you like to see yourself and your business in the future?
M: I’m a strong believer in showing up as who you want to be in 5 years time. I really believe in investing in yourself, and as it pays off and if you put time, attention and energy into what you love, you will kick goals! I work my butt off everyday to get to where I am, because I know it will get me to where I want to be in the end! My dream is to work full time doing coaching and social media. I’m so passionate, and I know it’s possible!! Sometimes you just have to stick out the hard yards and work jobs you may not want to for the time being, until you are financially in the position you want to be, to be able to support yourself and create your own income. A: What are some of your favourite self care habits/rituals that you practice to maintain balance and overall wellness in your life?
M: Oh I loveee self care! I really cherish my self care time, it’s something everyone needs to do! I love having calm cozy nights in, after a nice shower, a good skincare routine and journaling. However, I personally feel the best forms of self care are simply taking care of yourself and checking in on yourself; Am I thirsty? Seeing how much water I’ve drank. Am I hungry? Have I eaten enough. Am I feeling okay? How can I improve my mood? A: How do you like to spend your spare time outside of work and life?
M: Just living my best life, doing things I love, good gym sessions, enjoying summer and good vibes, and surrounding myself with people who support me and my goals. A: What would your advice to someone who wants to improve their Inner and Outer Wellness be?
M: Work on you. Focus on what you want, and work hard to create good habits in your everyday life that support your goals and desires. You can achieve anything you want to, don’t compare yourself to others! Eat well, stay hydrated, check in on yourself, and stay true to yourself! A: Finally, where can people find you on social media?
